Currency and Usuary in the Old and New Testaments

Öz

Currency which was mentioned as shekel, gerah, maneh, talent, beka and dark: in The Old Testament and as drachma, denarius and siver in The New Testament on account of the fact that it was circulated in the market in those forms in that period of time was not accepted something good by all the religions just because it had always been the basis of usuary up to that time. Whie The Old Testament prohbited jews from dealng with usuary among themselves, it set them free to do the same thing in their economic relations with other nations The reward of this practice wil be "not to collapse in the world" and "to be an honourable guest h God's tent in the hereafter" in the words of The old Testament. However, The New Testament said that the people who avoid dealing with usuary in the economic relations with all the nations would get "a big prtee"from God. In antiquity and in the minds of fathers of the church, usuary was accepted as an action which had definitely to be sentenced to non-existence. But despite it was certainly forbidden by the Holy Book, it has been partly tolerated in various eras so far.
